About &Rise Women Inc.
&Rise is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and survivors of trauma. We offer free counseling, support groups, financial literacy workshops, and youth programs.
The Role:Outreach & Tabling Volunteer
As the first point of connection between &Rise and the community, you will represent our organization at community health fairs, local festivals, schools, and partner events across Chicago/Chicagoland. Your goal is to raise awareness, share our resources with survivors who need them, and engage potential donors and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities- Event Set‑Up & Teardown – transport tabling materials (table, chairs, tablecloths, banners, flyers, and brochures) to and from event locations.
- Community Engagement – actively stand and greet attendees, inviting strangers into a conversation about our mission.
- Resource Sharing – answer questions about &Rise’s programs (Support Groups, Counseling, Youth programs) and help individuals find the right resources.
- Lead Collection – encourage interested individuals to sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media to stay connected.
- Communication Skills – must be outgoing, empathetic, and comfortable talking to strangers about sensitive topics. Trauma‑informed training will be provided.
- Physical Stamina – ability to stand for 2–4 hours at a time and lift/carry tabling supplies (approx. 20 lbs).
- Reliable Transportation – must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel to various sites throughout Chicago.
- Professionalism – punctual, reliable, and passionate about women’s empowerment.
- Commitment – willingness to volunteer at least 1–2 events per month. Some weekends may be required.
- Gain experience in community organizing and nonprofit outreach.
- Make a direct impact on the lives of survivors in Chicago.
- Receive trauma‑informed communication training.
- Join a supportive, female‑led network of changemakers.
