Compensation: $38,250 - $39,500 per year
Key Responsibilities- Reach out to a broad range of organizations and affected constituency groups across the political spectrum to demonstrate support for our campaign goals.
- Build broad public support for the campaign by recruiting organizations and members of the public to be involved. Organize webinars, community events, and public meetings to educate, persuade, and motivate.
- Earn traditional media and social media attention by organizing media events, writing opinion pieces, and building a following on social media.
- Lobby elected officials by coordinating strategy with champions in Congress or state houses, making a compelling case to undecided legislators, and demonstrating ground‑level support to secure key votes.
- Recruit new people to the team by bringing on volunteers, interns, and full‑time staff.
- Run a grassroots campaign office each summer, knocking on doors to raise money, building organization and membership, and managing a team of paid staff to meet fundraising goals. Remain flexible to relocate to different office locations as needed.
Entry‑level candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have leadership experience, top‑notch writing and public speaking skills, an eagerness to learn, and be ready for a challenge. Experience in organizing, particularly building campus or community groups, is valued. Training on advocacy and organizing skills will be provided under the guidance of an experienced advocate.
