Rohingya Culture Center Background:The Rohingya Culture Center (RCC) was founded in 2016 in the heart of Chicago’s West Ridge/West
Rogers Park neighborhood to meet the needs of the city’s growing Rohingya refugee population. Since
2010, over 600 Rohingya families have resettled in Chicago, and RCC has become a vital resource for
them, offering language classes, employment support, youth programs, and access to social services.
RCC serves not only the Rohingya but also other refugee and immigrant communities seeking assistance.
Job Overview:The Program Assistant primarily coordinates health programming, volunteers, and assists with case
management at the Rohingya Culture Center. This role works closely with the Executive Director,
Program Director, and the Community Health worker.
Major Responsibilities:- Conduct and maintain volunteer outreach partnerships, onboarding volunteers, and oversight of
- Maintain organizational events calendar
- Plan health and wellness events, workshops, and screenings with partner organizations
- Attend meetings with partners and stakeholders
- Collect and report on data to meet programmatic metrics
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines
- Create flyers and marketing materials for the organization
- Case management support, connecting community members to resources
- Assist clients with job search, placement, and securing sustainable employment
- Additional administrative tasks as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership, Social Services, or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations.
- Bilingual strongly preferred.

- Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
- Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
- Able to manage confidential information properly and securely.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when working with data, forms, and reports.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and experience using a CRM.
- Requires occasional local travel to attend community outreach activities and community events.
- This role is based on-site in an office setting.
- May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
