Manager Of Discipleship & Engagement

Position Summary

The Manager of Discipleship & Engagement is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and growth of parish engagement and evangelization efforts at Saint Clement Parish, with a particular focus on young adults, adults in their 30s, and young families.

Working collaboratively with the Director of Evangelization & Discipleship, clergy, staff, and volunteer leaders, this role helps create pathways for parishioners and visitors to move from initial connection and belonging into deeper participation in parish life, discipleship, leadership, and service.

This role is highly relational and pastoral in nature.

A key focus of this position will be the development and support of ministry initiatives for adults in their 30s, the coordination of the Parish Vision Carrier ministry, parish Life Groups, Executive Series, and support of the Sunday Table initiative for families with young children.

Responsibilities

Parish Engagement & Hospitality

• Maintain a visible and welcoming presence at Sunday liturgies, parish receptions, and community events.

• Help create a culture of hospitality, invitation, and belonging throughout parish life.

• Assist new parishioners and visitors in identifying meaningful next steps for engagement in ministry, outreach, formation, and community life.

• Support and coordinate parish engagement pathways that encourage parishioners to grow in participation and discipleship.

Ministry Development & Coordination

  • Coordinate and support ministry programs that foster belonging, faith formation, and community, including executive series and ministry offerings.
  • Create and sustain ministry initiatives specifically focused on adults in their 30s.
  • Coordinate and support the Parish Vision Carrier ministry by recruiting, accompanying, and encouraging parishioners who help foster a welcoming and invitational parish culture.
  • Coordinate Life Groups, recruit and train the small group leaders.
  • Support the Sunday Table initiative for families with young children through hospitality, volunteer coordination, communication, and family engagement.
  • Collaborate with parish ministries and staff to strengthen communication, integration, and shared mission across the parish.

Leadership & Evangelization

• Recruit, support, and accompany ministry leaders and volunteers.

• Help parishioners identify opportunities to use their gifts in service to the parish mission.

• Assist in implementing parish evangelization and engagement strategies aligned with Saint Clement's mission and values.

• Develop an understanding of the spiritual and pastoral needs of young adults, families, seekers, and non-believers in today's culture.

• Collaborate with clergy and staff in evaluating ministry effectiveness and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.

All other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, communications, education, or related field preferred.

• Previous experience leading parish ministry, discipleship initiatives, faith formation, or volunteer coordination.

• Practicing Catholic with understanding and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with clergy, staff, parish leaders, and volunteers.

• Self-motivated, dependable, relational, and adaptable.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic ministry environment.
