POSITION

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, and in partnership with multiple organizational teams, the Manager, Annual & Leadership Giving, leads direct-response fundraising efforts and manages engagement strategies for donors with the capacity and inclination to grow into deeper annual, leadership, and major gift relationships.

The Manager also serves as a leadership giving officer and primary relationship manager for a portfolio of approximately 100 leadership annual donors contributing $1,000 to $9,999 annually, with responsibility for qualification, cultivation, stewardship, retention, upgrades, and personalized engagement.

The Manager, Annual & Leadership Giving, will also expertly support a key donor network and co-manage all related activities and events to deepen engagement of this constituency.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage direct-response fundraising, programmatic acquisition, renewal, and stewardship of leadership donors in partnership with the Director, Individual Giving. (40%)
  • Manage a portfolio of roughly 100 individual leadership donors capable of moving to higher levels of giving. (40%)
  • Support the planning and execution of select donor network activities by providing project coordination and operational support to the lead staff member. Responsibilities may include coordinating event logistics, track timelines and deliverables, and assisting with programmatic materials and communication needs in partnership with Marketing and Communications.

  • Use the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) to actively manage leadership-level donor engagement, including portfolio tracking, gift projections, next steps, and stewardship plans. Partner with the Manager, Donor Services Operations, to ensure leadership-level gifts, including gifts from unmanaged donors, are identified and acknowledged in a timely, personalized way. (10%)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or combination of equivalent employment and education experience.
  • Two to four years of experience in fundraising or a related field such as alumni relations, sales, marketing, or public relations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, reflecting a passion for the work of United Way.
  • Possess a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage concurrent projects and day-to-day tasks effectively, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with donors and volunteers through clear and polished communication, excellent follow-through, sound judgment, discretion, and respect for confidential philanthropic decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office environment, with preference for database experience.
