World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

World Relief Chicagoland is seeking an Arabic-speaking Community Ambassador to join our Chicago Community Ambassador team to promote the integration and empowerment of newcomers in Chicagoland. This position will seek to obtain feedback from immigrant communities to better understand community trends and needs, share information on policy updates and their implications, inform about resources available and how to access them, and enhance relationships through meetings, workshops, and networking.

This team member will work from our Chicago office.

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 6/30/2027 and contingent upon funding extension.

This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Promote the integration and empowerment of newcomers in Chicagoland.
  • Seek to obtain feedback from immigrant communities to better understand community trends and needs.
  • Share information on policy updates and their implications, inform about resources available and how to access them.
  • Enhance relationships through meetings, workshops, and networking.

Job Requirements:

  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  • Valid drivers license, access to reliable vehicle and ability to pass MVR standards
  • Member of an immigrant community
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
  • MS Office skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and ability to work independently.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong mediation and problem-solving skills
  • Direct-service experience with immigrant populations preferred
  • Driver's License and willingness to drive World Relief vans preferred
  • Cross-cultural experience and/or personal refugee/immigrant experience
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed, accurate records
  • Comfortable working in a team environment

$23 - $25 an hour
