We offer service & leadership opportunities for college students in rural communities. As part of their studies, our Ameri Corps members will build community capacity (e.g., human and social capital), and assist with the implementation of local development projects, such as: downtown revitalization, health education and outreach, leadership development, reduction of food insecurity, and environmentally sustainable projects. At the end of the first program year, the Ameri Corps members will be responsible for building the capacity of host sites by coordinating community-driven projects.
In addition, the Ameri Corps members will leverage 250 volunteers who will be engaged in the implementation of local community projects. Half-time, (HT), Quarter Time (QT), and Minimum Time (MT) slots are available - on average, Members will serve between 10-20 hrs. per week for the duration of their assignments.
Members will assist host sites with volunteer recruitment/management and project implementation. Individual assignments will vary based on the unique needs and opportunities of each site and the skills and interests of each student/member. Members will serve between 10
-20 hrs. per week at their site, depending on the slot type (HT, QT, MT), for the duration of their term of service.
