Pay Range: $57.36 - $85.47 per hour

The Senior Director of Stewardship will oversee, evaluate, and refine a program of comprehensive, effective stewardship for donors at all giving levels; will oversee and support the appropriate spending of all philanthropic funds, and will support the stewardship and further engagement of current and future trustees. The Senior Director of Stewardship manages a team of 3.5 FTEs and collaborates regularly with all members of the Philanthropy team.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Ten years' experience in Philanthropy or related field.
• Five years’ experience successfully managing employees to achieve program goals.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. ;
  Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills required.
• Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically with senior leadership from across the RUSH System.
• Ability to effectively lead a multi-faceted stewardship program that addresses the needs of a variety of constituencies.
• Ability to think strategically about audiences and plan stewardship activities to meet needs. Ability to adjust and enhance stewardship activities to recognize public phase campaign gifts.
• Ability to conceive and manage projects from inception to delivery, including tracking and reporting on progress and results.
• Ability to lead the development of annual budgets and manage projects within the budget framework. Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and problem solve challenges.
• Ability to articulate RUSH’s mission and the campaign vision to a variety of constituencies with poise and diplomacy.

• Strong understanding of accounting, finance and balance sheets preferred.
• Experience working with senior leaders (CEOs, presidents, provosts, deans, senior vice presidents) preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of major gift and annual giving fundraising cycles preferred.

• Lead and manage the transformational gift ($10M+) stewardship process from proposal to completion; working with senior leadership and colleagues across Philanthropy and Rush to acknowledge and recognize high profile gifts increasing support and giving to critical programs and establishing innovative initiatives heightening Rush's impact for constituents.
• In close collaboration with the President, Provost, and Deans, manage Rush's endowed faculty positions appointments, policies, and associated historical data. This includes Board resolutions, reports, investiture ceremonies, and special projects.
• Develop annual stewardship team strategic plans;
  Identify strategies for continued donor engagement; foster opportunities for ongoing cultivation during and outside campaign years.
