Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing with specialization in Neonatal care
  • Certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
  • Prior experience in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
  • Prior experience in a hospital labor and delivery unit
  • Strong skills in communication and family support
  • Experience with advanced medical technologies used in neonatal care
  • CPR Certification
  • NRP Certification
  • Supervisory experience a plus
Working Conditions
  • Lifting up to 30 lbs 4-5 times per day
  • Carrying up to 20 lbs occasionally
  • Standing 1-2 hours at a time
  • Walking approx. 30 minutes per hour throughout the day
  • Withstands pressure and deals with emergency situations as needed
  • Normal coordination and/or visual attention to connection with the standard flow of work
  • Non-traditional hours - 24 hour call shifts (7am-7am)
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and evaluations on premature and critically ill newborns
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient
  • Manage neonatal medications, treatments, and procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Supports change and participates in activities to promote organizational development
  • Reviews and complies with MVHC policies and procedures related to regulatory standards (HFAP, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Demonstrates actions and behaviors that consistently contribute to the safety of all (i.e., incident reporting, hazards, and infection control management, etc.)
  • Positively and appropriately accepts direction and contrastive input from Leadership
  • Completes appropriate documentation within the specified timeframe
  • Follows proper technique in assisting and preforming procedures
  • Recognizes and reports signs of abuse or domestic violence
  • Displays ability and uses critical thinking skills to set priorities for patient care, self, and others
  • Conducts and/or coordinates daily rounds with physicians
  • Submits incident reports, evaluations, anecdotal notes, informal and formal counseling’s by deadlines and/or in a timely manner
  • Adheres to all MVHC’s policies and procedures fully cooperating with the MVHC Compliance Program
  • Full-time with benefits
  • 40 hours per week
