Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) night shift position requiring an active IL license, BLS, and PALS certifications.

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Pediatric critical care patient population
• Night shifts: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Mandatory floating within and between facilities, possibly up to 50 miles away, to meet staffing needs
• Uses Cerner EMR (experience preferred but not required)
• No call requirements
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients in an acute setting
• Team-based model utilized when floated outside primary competency
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
• Maximum of 5 days RTO, no more than 2 consecutive days, no RTO on weekends, and no holiday or adjacent RTO allowed
• Scrub color is flexible; any color may be worn
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred for this assignment

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current certifications:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum of 2 years pediatric ICU nursing experience required
• Must comply with a 75-mile local radius rule
• COVID-19 vaccination required
