Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active IL license and mandatory floating in a Level 1 trauma center.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Schedule is 3x12 hour day shifts, 7:00am to 7:30pm
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory floating to other units or facilities within up to 50 miles, as needed
• Uses Cerner for charting
• May provide care to various patient populations if floated outside primary competency, utilizing a team-based model
• Strict compliance is required, including timely completion of lab work after offer acceptance
• Any color of scrubs may be worn
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be approved
• Maximum of 5 days RTO, no more than 2 consecutive days, with no weekend or holiday RTO allowed, and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred

• Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Proof of COVID vaccination is required
