Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – RN

Location: Complete Care at Margate Park

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Call Rotation

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for supervising daily nursing activities to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained. Working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), you will oversee clinical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a compassionate environment for our residents in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

Clinical Supervision & Quality Assurance

• Daily Operations: Assist the DON in directing nursing functions and ensure all personnel follow the Nursing Procedures Manual.

• Rounds & Monitoring: Conduct daily clinical rounds to evaluate resident status and ensure nursing standards are met.

• Quality Improvement: Participate in the facility’s QA program, coordinate with the Assessment Committee, and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Documentation: Review nurses’ notes and charts for accuracy, descriptiveness, and adherence to care plans and physician orders.

Staff Leadership & Management

• Staffing: Ensure appropriate RN, LPN, and CNA staffing levels are maintained for your tour of duty.

• Personnel Management: Assist in performance evaluations, work assignments, and identify areas for staff improvement or disciplinary action.

• Training: Lead in-service training and provide leadership mentorship to Charge Nurses and floor staff.

Resident Care & Advocacy

• Care Planning: Participate in the development of comprehensive resident assessments and interdisciplinary care plans.

• Admissions/Discharges: Coordinate resident transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.

• Communication: Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and physicians regarding changes in condition or treatment plans.

• Rights & Safety: Investigation of any allegations of abuse, ensuring resident privacy, and honoring the right to refuse treatment.

• License: Current, unencumbered New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Experience:
  * Required: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an ADON or Nurse Supervisor.

  • Required: Previous experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing facility (SNF).

• Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.

  Skills:
  
  Training in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices and ability to provide direct care (IVs, specimens, etc.) when necessary.

• Leadership: Proven ability to make independent decisions, manage a team harmoniously, and remain calm under pressure.

• On-Call: Rotating schedule, required once per month.
