Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Chicago, IL (Lakeview Neighborhood)

Full-time; 11:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.; 3–12 hour shifts Monday‑Friday;
Call required – must be within 30 minutes of hospital.

The unit has 12 OR suites in the main hospital and 6 state‑of‑the‑art operating rooms in the Outpatient Center for Advanced Care. The surgical services division provides pre‑ and post‑operative care focusing on patient and family education and smooth transitions between settings for the best patient outcomes. The OR performs all specialty surgeries except transplants and offers state‑of‑the‑art equipment and services.

The surgery department is staffed 24 hours during the week.

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in an operating room
• Ability to scrub and circulate a patient

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and strong communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
