Job Description

This is a full‑time position working 8‑hour shifts with a variable start time that may begin as early as 6:30am in some instances. Candidates must have 2years of RN practice experience to receive an interview; previous research experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Provide family‑centered care and integrate appropriate patient growth and developmental processes for patients with acute and chronic diseases.
  • Support study implementation in various settings, including study coordination, data management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize the nursing process and perform duties in alignment with the Magnet® Model, contributing to clinical research activities in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assist in identifying resources to advance research nursing practice.
  • Support the development of SOPs, screen participants, plan and conduct visits, collect data, and maintain data integrity.
  • Participate in study audits, corrective actions, and liaise with sponsors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with IRB submissions, participant consent/enrollment, and maintain regulatory forms, source documents, and case report forms.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of research data; prepare data for analysis when required.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day operational support of clinical research protocol execution for one PI or division.
  • Perform nursing assessments using appropriate tools, develop individualized plans of care, and monitor participant health during studies.
  • Administer treatments and other research activities, ensuring participant safety.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise activities of other licensed and unlicensed study personnel when appropriate.
  • Educate participants about risks, benefits, and distinctions between clinical and research activities.
  • Record adverse events, assess actions, and liaise with ancillary research departments (e.g., lab, pharmacy).
  • Maintain communication with research participants and respond to queries regarding data integrity.
  • Identify self‑learning needs and create professional development opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; associate degree may be considered for difficult‑to‑fill positions if accompanied by equivalent experience.
  • RN licensure in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, or equivalently, competency at RN2 level; pediatric experience preferred.
  • GCP and CITI training required within 3 months of hire.
  • Certification in ACRO or SOCRA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and customer‑service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)

Pay Range

$76,960.00–$
