Travel RN - Acute Dialysis

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Dialysis position requiring a minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience and current peritoneal dialysis expertise, with evening shift hours in a mandatory float facility.

Job Details

• Hospital dialysis unit setting,

• Evening shift: 4x10-hour shifts, 1:30 PM - 12:00 AM,

• Peritoneal dialysis in an outpatient setting is the primary focus,

• On-call required: one 12-hour on-call shift every other Sunday, plus a 3-hour on-call shift following regular shifts approximately twice weekly,

• Mandatory float facility - travelers may be floated to any Cook County facility within 50 miles, with as little as 2 hours notice prior to shift start,

• If floated outside primary area of competency, a team-based care model is utilized,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (no pending licenses accepted),

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum 3 years of full-time clinical nursing experience,

• Minimum 2 years of current peritoneal dialysis experience in an outpatient setting,

• Prior experience in patient education and training in peritoneal dialysis within the last 3 years,

• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,

• Proof of COVID vaccination required - no exceptions,

Additional Information

• Educate and train patients in peritoneal dialysis techniques and self-care,

• Candidates must reside beyond a 75-mile radius from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate - local candidates should inquire separately,

• Scrubs of any color are acceptable and are not provided by the facility,

• RTO is capped at 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time,

• RTO on weekends will not be approved,

• No RTO on holidays, or on the day before or after a holiday
