Position Overview
The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner – Psychiatry is a registered nurse who influences the professional role competence and growth of learners across a variety of settings. The practitioner supports lifelong learning in an inter‑professional environment that fosters continuous development and improvement for the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop knowledge and competency in pediatric nursing and professional development practices.
- Evaluate personal practice against professional standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Implement strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings.
- Assess clinical skills of staff and provide learning opportunities to advance clinical competencies and decision‑making skills, documenting competencies.
- Use the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
- Facilitate professional role development.
- Actively assist in transformation processes at the unit/area level, utilizing project management and improvement processes.
- Perform other job functions as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing required.
- Minimum three years of clinical RN experience in Psychiatry required.
- Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois required.
- ANCC recognized certification in specialty area of clinical practice required.
- Basic Life Support certification required from the American Heart Association.
- CPR instructor certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Resuscitation requirements appropriate to specialty area required within 6 months of hire.
- Master’s degree in adult education preferred.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in specialty area preferred.
- Direct experience in transport, EMS/emergency, or pediatric critical care (NICU, PICU, CVICU) strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required);
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
Pay Range: $83,200.00 - $ (including base salary and potential additional compensation).
