Job Overview

We are seeking a full‑time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support a busy orthopedic practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate passionate about orthopedics and committed to high‑quality patient care. The position requires flexibility to travel between Chicago and Western Suburbs for clinic appointments. Both new graduates and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the existing medical team.
  • Assist physicians in the clinic setting.
  • Assess patient health status, including wellness and compliance with the care plan, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Utilize practice technology, such as electronic health records, dictation, and outcome tools, to the fullest extent to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Provide medical care as delegated by a physician.
  • Educate patients and families as appropriate and provide continuity of care.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, compile medical data (history and exam results), and document findings.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests (e.g., x‑ray, electrocardiogram, laboratory tests) and interpret results for deviations from normal.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in continuity of care.
  • Travel with physicians as required.
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional issues of daily living, and health maintenance.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Illinois (or ability to obtain).
  • National certification: AANP, ANCC, ONCB, or NCCPA.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical decision‑making and procedural skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
