Shifts will vary Monday
- Friday, 8am - 4pm, no weekends or holidays.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of nursing care to the infusion center patient.
- Proficient in vascular access care, maintenance and management.
- Safely prepares mixes, handles, administers and disposes of injectables and infused agents according to policy.
- Performs designated nursing and other patient care activities according to established nursing policies and procedures.
- Attains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of practice.
- Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
- Integrates research findings into nursing practice and collaborates with potential research opportunities.
- Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Communicates information to others as appropriate to maintain effective patient flow.
- Collaborates closely with the charge nurse and APN.
- Recognizes and adjusts to situations that vary from the norm.
- Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
- Guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care.
- Enhances own professional growth and development.
- Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
- Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- 1 year of experience as a staff nurse (required).
- 1 year of professional infusion, hematology/oncology experience (strongly preferred).
- Associate's in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor's in Nursing (preferred).
- Current Illinois Nursing licensure (required).
- CPR Certification through American Heart Association (required).
- Current Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card (strongly preferred).
