Job Summary

The Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical specialty provides skilled nursing care in an acute care setting, focusing on patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability to float within the facility as needed, and a minimum of two years of recent acute care experience.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and families.
• Float within the facility as required to meet operational needs, including mid-shift float assignments.
• Document patient care and clinical information accurately using Cerner electronic charting system.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
• Valid driver s license and reliable transportation within a 75-mile radius of the facility.

• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center or similar high acuity setting.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record system.
• candidates preferred within the specified mileage radius.

• Float requirement is mandatory; all nursing staff must be willing to float within the facility.
• Floating may occur mid-shift based on facility needs.
• No call requirements.
• RTO (Return to Office) policy allows up to 5 days maximum with no more than 2 consecutive days.
• No RTO allowed on weekends, holidays, or the day prior or after a holiday.
• Scrub color is flexible; not provided by the facility.

• Work schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
• Weekend work required every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month).
• Guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
