position summary: the administrative nurse iii (nurse manager) critical care outreach is accountable and responsible for overseeing critical care outreach team operations. The aniii critical care outreach team (aniii ccot) is a certified nurse with subject matter expertise in critical care nursing and emergency response. The aniii ccot is a proficient leader who serves as the nurse lead during emergency response activations across the organization and provides episodic patient care, nursing consultation, mentorship, and education to all members of the healthcare team.
The aniii ccot provides safe, competent care to diverse patient populations and is a resource for interprofessional staff in the proactive recognition and management of deteriorating and high acuity patients. A dynamic environment requires the aniii ccot to make independent decisions and judgments that support high quality care. The aniii ccot manages requests through autonomous triage, negotiation, and prioritization.
duties & responsibilities:
- synthesize theoretical knowledge, evidence-based practice, research, regulatory standards, and clinical expertise to provide safe, coordinated, quality patient care to diverse populations at risk for clinical deterioration in collaboration with an interprofessional team.
- create and maintain a supportive and healthy work environment, fostering psychological safety, open communication, collaboration, and accountability; serve as a professional leadership role model.
- identify recurring patient safety concerns and participate in/lead problem solving, continuous quality improvement, and resolution; inform nursing service administration regarding needs of nursing units and specific concerns or trends.
- plan for and participate in formal and informal educational experiences to interprofessional members of the healthcare team to promote early recognition and management of patient deterioration.
- actively participate in organizational communication processes through timely review and response to electronic and written messages.
- demonstrate competence and ownership in all departmental is applications.
- ability to work flexible shifts and days when required.
- perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
