Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Certified School Nurse to join our team in Cortland, IL. As a School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and wellness of students by providing high-quality nursing care, health education, and support to students, staff, and families. This position requires a professional with strong clinical skills, the ability to manage health emergencies, and a dedication to fostering a safe and healthy school environment.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHPs) for students with specific medical needs.
• Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and manage immunization records.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health and learning.
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
• Respond to health emergencies and provide appropriate care and referrals as needed.
• Ensure pliance with state and federal health regulations and school policies.

Certifications:

• Current Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse Endorsement.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
