Position: Clinical Nurse- Outpatient Infusion Oncology Full Time Days

Salary range: $36.50 - $58.40 hourly. Placement within the range depends on experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement follows collective bargaining agreement rules.

Job Description

The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Based on the NMH framework for practice, the registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent, evidence‑based care for an assigned group of patients, including diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing, the Code of Ethics, and the Nursing Social Policy Statement.

As a member of the clinical care and unit team, the RN participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care.

Clinical Nurse – Outpatient Infusion Oncology Early Phase Clinical Trials – Full‑time – Days

Responsibilities Advocate
  • Practice in accordance with the patient‑centered care model.
  • Develop individualized age‑specific culturally sensitive nursing plans of care.
  • Incorporate the role of patient advocate into the plan of care.
  • Use a team approach to develop and achieve daily patient‑centered individualized care goals.
  • Acknowledge and value the contributions of the patient’s significant others.
  • Identify potential conflict situations and facilitate resolution using established communication channels.
  • Promote and strive to protect the health, safety, and rights of the patient.
  • Protect patients by maintaining a safe environment.
Clinical Expert
  • Advance clinical expertise through continuing education and obtaining specialty certification when eligible.
  • Continuously enhance skills and abilities to ensure the highest quality patient care.
  • Share knowledge and expertise through educating team members, patients, and students.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking by integrating theoretical knowledge and expertise to pose relevant clinical questions when evidence and practice differ.
  • Identify priorities, set realistic and measurable goals, prescribe and implement nursing interventions in a safe and timely manner.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for patients and families using suitable instructional materials and methods.
  • Evaluate and document the patient’s responses to nursing interventions and appropriately individualize the plan of care.
  • Identify situations requiring further intervention and escalates appropriately; consult experts and resources when needed.
  • Participate in the formation, implementation, and evaluation of team goals.
  • Appropriately delegate and supervise interventions to implement the plan of care.
  • Convey complete, timely, and accurate information at hand‑off at the bedside or any hand‑off.
  • Adhere to ethical standards of practice.
