Salary range: $26.99/hr – $41.93/hr (final rate based on agreement and qualifications)
Requirements: Illinois residency within 180 days of hire date

Position SummaryCompleted orientation and unit-specific competencies.
Participates in patient assessments delegated by the registered nurse and collects, records, and reports patient data.
Contributes to nursing care plans with the registered nurse based on patient observations and family input.
Implements orders from physicians, physician assistants, or advanced practice nurses and documents accurately in the electronic medical record.
Collaborates with healthcare team members to promote effective patient care.
Recognizes symptoms, prioritizes care, and responds to changing patient conditions.
Engages patients and families to support educational plans.
Conducts screening tests for common diseases or viruses.
Other duties as assigned.
Professional / Leadership ResponsibilitiesAdvocates for patients, families, and the community.
Integrates evidence‑based research into patient care.
Supports shared leadership and participates in departmental activities.
Maintains LPN licensure, BLS and unit‑specific certifications.
Organizational ResponsibilitiesAdheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct, nursing time and attendance policies, and TB, flu, and fit‑testing requirements.
Completes electronic learning modules and other assigned training.
Escalates or resolves patient care problems using established communication channels.
Participates in problem‑solving for recurring clinical practice issues.
Education / Research ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with nurses to create positive learning experiences for staff and students.
Provides resources to nurse staff and students.
Supports nursing and research efforts on the unit.
Engages in professional growth and development.
Reporting StructureWorks under the scope of practical nursing as defined by the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, under a physician or registered nurse.
The Director serves as coach and mentor and provides guidance and feedback.
Performance evaluated annually in writing.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- Eligible for and possess a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Six months of nursing experience in a health care facility.
- Effective communication skills that facilitate therapeutic relationships.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to become proficient in Epic.
