Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required. For positions that are identified as difficult to fill, the Chief Nursing Officer may allow approval for hiring of candidates with an associate’s degree in nursing with equivalent experience.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.
  • Special certifications may be required by the department.
  • Visa sponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates subject to applicable law and business needs.

Job Duties
  • Perform nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and/or area-specific tools.
  • Develop and individualize plans of care and goals relative to family needs; evaluate and document changes.
  • Develop or individualize teaching plans/protocols to meet patient and family learning needs; evaluate and document changes.
  • Perform nursing care according to procedures/protocols; anticipate impending emergent situations and intervene effectively.
  • Communicate with the family and multidisciplinary team to identify health care needs and changes in patient status; utilize appropriate resources for referrals or consultations.
  • Keep up to date in nursing practice by utilizing current nursing and healthcare literature for information and problem solving.
  • Incorporate current hospital and departmental quality initiatives into daily activities.
  • Adhere to communication, service excellence and professional image standards that support the hospital mission and philosophy.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member to foster achievement of unit/hospital goals.
  • Identify learning needs and seek resources to advance nursing practice and achieve professional goals.
  • Perform job functions with a customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to patients, families, co-workers and others.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of pertinent protocols related to chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization as required.
Compensation

Pay Range: $39.00 - $64.35 hourly. In addition to base salary, the organization offers a comprehensive rewards package that may include differentials for some hourly employees, leadership incentives for select roles, health and retirement benefits, and wellbeing programs.
