Part‑Time Faculty – Nurse Clinical Instructor (Pediatrics, OB, Psych/Mental Health, Med‑Surg., Community Health)
Location:
Rogers Park‑Lake Shore Campus, Hybrid ABSN Program – Downers Grove, IL Site.
Salary: $1961.17 per credit (master's prepared); $2171.30 per credit (doctoral prepared).
Responsibilities- Respect and effectively communicate the dignity, worth, and culture of students, faculty, colleagues, peers, staff, patients, families, and communities.
- Maintain ethical standards of the nursing profession and the University.
- Adhere to state and federal laws, including privacy, confidentiality, and reporting of student and patient information.
- Prepare in advance to plan, supervise, teach, and evaluate student learning in clinical courses, including participation in simulation and laboratory‑based learning and functioning as supervising faculty in preceptor‑based practicum experiences.
- Employ a variety of innovative teaching techniques in the clinical setting to promote critical thinking, clinical competency, and achieve course outcomes that reflect evidence‑based approaches to instruction.
- Demonstrate proficiency with knowledge, skills and attitudes required for competency in patient‑centered care, teamwork, quality improvement, safety, evidence‐based practice and informatics.
- Collaborate with didactic instructional faculty in the planning and implementation of clinical learning experiences.
- Maintain satisfactory working relationships with colleagues within the School of Nursing.
- Maintain an advanced level of practice in a well‑defined area of clinical practice that informs teaching.
- Maintain certification in a specialty area of expertise (Pediatrics, OB, Psych/Mental Health, Med‑Surg., Community Health).
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
- Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License.
- Licensure in Illinois as a Registered Nurse or eligibility for Illinois RN licensure.
- Certification in a specialty area preferred.
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment.
Desirable:
Recent teaching experience in a clinical setting and doctoral degree.
