Position: Pulmonary Critical Care/Adult ICU (Per diem) Advanced Practice Provider

Job Title

Rush University Medical Center invites applications for the position of Pulmonary Critical Care/Adult ICU Per diem Advanced Practice Provider.

About the Role

This provider will join a team of physicians and APPs that provide 24/7 care to critically ill medical patients at the Rush main campus. APPs will work autonomously and in collaboration with Rush pulmonary/critical care attending physicians and fellows and will be required to perform a number of procedures including central line placements, paracentesis and temporary hemodialysis catheter placements, among other duties.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The AICU is a 28-bed unit that is staffed by both medical and surgical ICU teams.
  • This position is 100% inpatient.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ICU is required.
  • APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification.
Position Requirements

Nurse Practitioner

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process.
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with a clinical specialty appropriate to the position.
  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Physician Assistant

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program.
  • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Compensation

Compensation: $75/hour. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs.
