Infection Preventionist Nurse Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infection Preventionist Nurse to join our team at Ambassador Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, Illinois. As an Infection Preventionist Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care and safety for our residents by implementing effective infection prevention and control measures.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough infection control assessments and develop plans to prevent and control infections
- Identify and investigate potential outbreaks and implement corrective actions to prevent further spread
- Develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention and control protocols
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of infection prevention and control measures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, staff, and residents to educate on infection prevention and control practices
- Provide guidance and training to staff on infection control procedures
- Develop and maintain infection control policies and procedures
- Conduct quality improvement initiatives to reduce infection rates and improve patient outcomes
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Minimum 0 years of experience as an Infection Preventionist or in a related field
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, practices, and regulations
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and other healthcare software
