Position Overview
Registered Nurse – Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Responsibilities- Perform nursing assessments using various methods and area‑specific tools.
- Develop, individualize, and evaluate care plans and goals relative to family needs.
- Design teaching plans and protocols to meet patient and family learning needs; evaluate changes.
- Provide nursing care according to procedures and protocols; anticipate and intervene in emerging situations.
- Communicate with family and multidisciplinary team, updating patient status and coordinating referrals or consultations.
- Stay current in nursing practice by reviewing nursing and healthcare literature.
- Incorporate current hospital and departmental quality initiatives into daily practice.
- Adhere to communication, service excellence, and professional image standards that support the hospital mission.
- Work cooperatively as a team member to achieve unit and hospital goals.
- Identify learning needs and seek resources to advance nursing practice and professional goals.
- Perform functions with a customer‑service focus on innovation, excellence, and teamwork.
- Demonstrate knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection, and sterilization when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher. For difficult‑to‑fill positions, an associate degree with equivalent experience may be approved.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Special certifications may be required by the department.
- Visa sponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates, subject to applicable law and business constraints.
Hourly pay range: $37.00–$61.05. Salary is reviewed regularly to remain competitive.
