PositionRegistered Nurse (RN) – PRN 12‑hour night shifts (7p.m.–7a.m.) – Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and area‑specific tools.
- Develop and individualize care plans and set goals relative to family needs; evaluate and document changes.
- Develop teaching plans and protocols to meet patient and family learning needs; evaluate and document changes.
- Provide nursing care according to procedures and protocols, anticipating and intervening in emergent situations.
- Communicate effectively with families and the multidisciplinary team, relay changes in patient status, and utilize resources for referrals or consultations.
- Maintain current knowledge in nursing practice through literature and incorporate quality initiatives into daily activities.
- Adhere to communication, service excellence, and professional image standards that support the hospital mission.
- Collaborate as a team member to achieve unit and hospital goals.
- Identify learning needs and pursue resources to advance nursing practice and professional goals.
- Employ chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection, and sterilization protocols as required.
- Work with a customer‑service focus to deliver high‑quality care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ADN accepted with BSN commitment).
- Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
- CPR certification required.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Effective communication skills with patients/families, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Ability to hold children and react quickly in emergency situations.
- Special certifications may be required by department.
