Join our team of CNAs for all shifts—full-time and part-time opportunities are available, and full‑time hires earn a $500 sign‑on bonus. Pavilion of Logan Square is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) whose responsibilities include assisting patients/residents with activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and exercising. This is a collectively bargained position under the union.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, the CNAs work closely with the nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.
- Provide physical support for patients/residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
- Turn and reposition bedridden patients.
- Ensure proper resident/patient diet based on their dietary restrictions.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake.
- Examine patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
- Note and communicate patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.
- Gather medical supplies.
- Clean rooms and bed linens.
- Check and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Answer patient calls and respond to needs.
- Assist patients being transported to and from appointments.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good collaboration and teamwork skills with the nursing staff.
- Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Meet all health requirements, as required by law.
- Relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
- Demonstrate basic computer knowledge.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.
- Current CPR certificate or become certified within 90 days of employment (preferred).
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, and ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without mechanical devices is required.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols is required.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
