Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health – 7pm-7:30am (PRN). The RN provides assistance to physicians in the direct and indirect treatment of patients in Behavioral Health Services, performing charting, assessments, coordination, and supervision during shifts.
Responsibilities- Assess patients’ conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
- Collect pertinent data and information relative to the patient’s health or situation; recognize normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
- Coordinate bed and patient care assignments during the shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
- Plan and evaluate care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
- Document and report care delivered to physicians and other team members as needed.
- Enhance professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building annually.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes; report data and outcomes to the appropriate physician and/or other disciplines.
- Implement care and supervise care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
- Actively pursue required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, unit-based in‑service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the healthcare team during the assigned shift.
- Provide performance feedback to team members and input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
- Establish effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team; identify and confer with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
- Serve as a strong, positive role model for other healthcare team members.
- Employ teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Active RN license in the State of IL.
- ADN (Required).
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days of hire).
- BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire).
Estimated compensation range: $37.23 – $57.71 per hour, based on experience.
