Float Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - South Bay, CA; South LA Region

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking highly skilled full‑time Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or Certified Nurse Midwives to provide comprehensive reproductive health care in our South Bay Health Center and additional sites in Los Angeles County. The clinician will serve patients from diverse backgrounds, offering examinations, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and coordination of care.

• A valid and current California license as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Associate (PA).
• Current furnishing license (for NP).
• Current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Master’s or graduate degree.
• National Board Certification.
• Medi‑Cal provider application completed.
• NPI number.
• DEA license preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Reliable means of transportation; valid CA driver’s license and auto insurance if using personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
• Strong clinical and customer‑service skills, including ability to communicate with patients, staff, and volunteers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with mature judgment, initiative, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and implement written instructions and to work flexible hours, including evenings and at least two Saturdays per month; availability for on‑call duties and additional hours as needed.
• Knowledge of reproductive health, family planning, and reproductive‑care standards.

• Perform physical examinations for males and females, with special emphasis on the reproductive system.
• Deliver family‑planning services, including medication abortion (MAB) and procedural abortion (PAB) training; perform IUD and implant placement and removal.
• Conduct pregnancy‑related evaluations, cervical and breast exams, pelvic exams, and male genital exams.
• Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections and other reproductive health conditions.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies per PPLA Medical Standards & Guidelines.
• Complete post‑abortion examinations, lab work, and follow‑up care.
• Provide counseling on nutrition, sexual health, and health promotion.
• Collaborate with non‑licensed staff and other community agencies to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintain productivity standards – minimum 3 visits per hour and 18 work units.
• Keep accurate records in the EHR, including Rh, β‑hCG, and MAB follow‑up logs.
• Assist in skill‑based training of licensed and non‑licensed health‑care professionals.
• Serve as a medical resource to staff, ensuring adherence to agency medical protocols.
• Handle medical‑legal considerations, ethical and professional issues, and provide documentation for claims and compliance.
• Perform venipuncture, injections, and IV insertions; interpret microscopy results.
• Identify and treat minor deviations from the norm per PPLA MS&Gs, consult with relevant clinical leaders when necessary.
• Respond to on‑call shifts and additional coverage as required.
• Additional assignments based on training and competency.

• Base hiring range: $75‑80 per hour (Non‑Exempt)
