Job Description
Recruiting a Registered Nurse to join Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher (Associate degree with equivalent experience may be considered for difficult‑to‑fill positions).
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Special certifications may be required by the department.
- Visa sponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates subject to applicable law and business limitations.
- Performs nursing assessments using various assessment methods and/or area‑specific tools.
- Develops or individualizes plans of care and goals relative to family needs, and evaluates and documents changes.
- Develops teaching plans or protocols to meet patient and family learning needs; identifies preferences and motivations, and documents changes.
- Provides nursing care per procedures and protocols, anticipating emergent situations and intervening effectively.
- Communicates with families and the multidisciplinary team to identify health‑care needs, status changes, and obtain referrals or consultations.
- Stays current in nursing practice by reviewing literature for information and problem‑solving.
- Incorporates hospital and departmental quality initiatives into daily activities.
- Adheres to communication, service excellence, and professional image standards supporting the hospital mission.
- Collaborates as a team member to achieve unit and hospital goals.
- Identifies learning needs and seeks resources to advance practice and professional goals.
- Provides service principles with innovation, excellence, and teamwork to offer the highest quality care to patients, families, co‑workers, and others.
- Demonstrates knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection, and sterilization when required.

Pay Range: $36.00–$59.40 per hour
