The Registered Nurse will provide safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans. The RN collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
What you will do- Develop and revise patient care plans to achieve expected outcomes.
- Assess patients, collect health data, and involve families and other health care providers.
- Communicate care plans to patients and families, respecting their wishes and setting mutual goals; convey data to physicians and interdisciplinary teams; document all interactions.
- Provide individualized teaching based on assessment, including disease management, emergency care, drug information, and community resources.
- Collaborate with peers, students, and health care providers, share knowledge, give feedback, and delegate tasks as needed.
- Offer psychological support in a compassionate environment.
- Assist technical staff with contrast injection, venipuncture, drug administration, oxygen therapy, and IV management.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research, staying current with wound, ostomy, and skin‑care trends; support staff in evidence‑based practice.
- If skilled, conduct daily rounds for wound, ostomy, and skin‑care patients and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
- License: Current professional nursing licensure in the state of Illinois.
- Education: Graduate of a National League for Nursing accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Certification: BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: 2 years in Labor and Delivery or acute care nursing strongly preferred.
