Job Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) position for the Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park – Clark. The role provides nursing care in the outpatient setting with one 8-hour evening shift per week, covering shifts on Monday through Sunday. Prior experience in pediatrics or the emergency department is preferred.

• Perform nursing assessments using a variety of assessment methods and area-specific tools.
• Develop or individualize plans of care and set goals relative to family needs; evaluate and document changes to the plan.
• Create individual teaching plans or protocols to meet patient and family learning needs; identify preferences and motivational factors; evaluate and document adjustments.
• Perform nursing care according to established procedures and protocols; anticipate emergent situations and intervene effectively.
• Communicate with families and the multidisciplinary team to identify health-care needs; report changes in patient status; use appropriate resources for referrals or consultations.
• Keep current in nursing practice by consulting current literature for information and problem solving.
• Incorporate current hospital and department quality initiatives into daily activities.
• Adhere to communication, service excellence, and professional image standards that support the hospital mission and philosophy.
• Work cooperatively as a team member to foster achievement of unit and hospital goals.
• Identify learning needs and seek resources to advance nursing practice and professional goals.
• Perform job functions adhering to service principles with a focus on innovation, service excellence, and teamwork to provide the highest quality care to patients, families, co-workers and others.
• Demonstrate knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high-level disinfection, and sterilization if required by the role.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required; associate’s degree with equivalent experience may be considered for hard-to-fill positions.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
• Special certifications may be required by the department.

Pay Range: $36.00 - $59.40 per hour. The range is regularly reviewed to reflect market conditions.
