Administrative Nurse III (Critical Care Outreach Team / RRT Nurse) – Full‑time, Flex Night Shift

As the Administrative Nurse III (Nurse Manager) for the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT), you oversee operations, lead emergency response activations, and provide episodic patient care, consultation, mentorship, and education across the organization. You support interprofessional staff in recognizing and managing deteriorating or high‑acuity patients, making independent decisions that ensure high‑quality care.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Synthesize theoretical knowledge, evidence‑based practice, research, regulatory standards, and clinical expertise to provide safe, coordinated, quality patient care for diverse populations at risk for clinical deterioration.
  • Create and maintain a supportive and healthy work environment, fostering psychological safety, open communication, collaboration, and accountability; serve as a professional leadership role model.
  • Identify recurring patient safety concerns and lead problem‑solving, continuous quality improvement, and resolution; inform nursing service administration about unit needs and trends.
  • Plan and participate in formal and informal educational experiences for interprofessional team members to promote early recognition and management of patient deterioration.
  • Actively participate in organizational communication processes through timely review and response to electronic and written messages.
  • Demonstrate competence and ownership in all departmental IS applications.
  • Work flexible shifts and days as required.
  • Perform related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Professional Nurse license in Illinois (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation).
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of recent relevant, non‑contract, ICU nursing experience with progressive leadership experience.
  • Current AHA BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications.
  • National certification in critical care (CCRN) required or to be obtained within six months of hire.
  • PALS certification required within six months of hire.
  • BLS/ACLS Instructor‑level certification or to be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills facilitating leadership, education, and therapeutic relationships during emergent situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain psychological safety across multiple clinical settings with diverse experience and educational preparation.
  • Illinois residency required within 180 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Experience teaching, working with clinical data sets, data management, and quality improvement initiatives.

Salary and Benefits

The previously determined range for this position is $91,769.60 to $ per year. The final rate offered will be determined by the collective bargaining agreement, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.

Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid Time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.
