, as a Staff Nurse (RN) in the Burn
ICU department at our Hyde Park campus. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity
. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Our Burn Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons and the American Burn Association.
We have an eight-bed intensive care unit (ICU) dedicated to adult and pediatric burn patients. The Burn Center addresses all aspects of burns from transport to acute care to post-burn rehabilitation.
A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient-centered care that is outcome-directed. Patient-centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision.
Essential Job Functions
- Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs.
- Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
- Manages & collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
- Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by the Care Center Director or the Patient Care Manager.
- Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person, and working as a team member.
- Assists the Care Center in the development/attainment of goals and objectives.
- Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice.
- Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meet needs.
- Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN degree or higher preferred.
- Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program.
- Current Illinois RN license
- BLS from the American Heart Association
