Position

Job Title: RN - CCU

Location: Chicago, IL

Hours: Nights (7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) and rotating holidays required

Required Travel: May float to other inpatient units as needed

Hourly Rate: $36.00 – $55.80 (determined by expertise and years of experience)

Sign on bonus: None

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
  • Maintain competency reflective of current standards of practice.
  • Interact and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
  • Integrate evidence‑based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
  • Recognize and adjust to situations that vary from the norm.
  • Promote safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
  • Guide and supervise staff in the provision of patient care.
  • Enhance own professional growth and development.
  • Maintain a safe therapeutic working environment and recognize the need for action in emergency situations.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and timely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
  • Prefer at least one year of experience as a staff nurse.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrate mastery of nursing skills.
  • Communicate effectively and be able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
  • Current Illinois nursing licensure.
  • American Heart Association CPR certification, ACLS, and NIHSS required within 3 months of hire.
  • PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on unit requirements.
