RN – Float Pool (Critical Care & Emergency) | OSF SAHC
Are you an experienced Critical Care or Emergency RN looking for high earnings, maximum scheduling predictability, and the versatility of float pool nursing?
OSF SAHC is hiring a dedicated Float Pool Registered Nurse to support our ICU and Emergency Department teams. This high-impact role offers top-tier compensation, an unbeatable weekend differential, and a generous sign-on bonus for experienced nurses who thrive in fast-paced clinical environments.
Position Highlights & Total Rewards
- $20,000 Sign-On Bonus with a 2-year commitment.
- Massive Weekend Differential: Earn an additional 40% premium on your base pay for participating in the Weekend Program.
- Night Shift Differential: Additional $4.00/hour for night shifts.

Schedule:
Dedicated night rotation (3x12s, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). - Cross-Unit Exposure: Expand your clinical expertise by floating across units within OSF SAHC.
Schedule & Commitment
- Shift: Full-Time, Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours/week).
- Weekend Program: Works 11 out of every 12 weekends.
- Holidays: 2 major holidays per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert, direct patient care to high-acuity patients across the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), and related float units.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in dynamic, high-volume environments.
- Adapt quickly to varying unit workflows, patient demographics, and team dynamics while maintaining high standards of care and safety.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, and staff across all assigned units within OSF.
- Maintain clinical competency in advanced critical care interventions, life-support protocols, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU or Emergency Department setting required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required upon hire.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required upon hire.
- PALS / TNCC preferred or required within designated timeline post-hire.
