Description
Key Responsibilities- Assist the DON with planning, coordinating, and managing nursing services
- Support hiring, coaching, evaluating, and supervising nursing staff
- Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident conditions
- Serve as co-designated Infection Preventionist in accordance with CMS, CDC, and IDPH guidelines
- Coordinate staff education, orientation, competencies, and annual in-services
- Support compliance with Federal and State regulations, HIPAA, and resident rights
- Assist with scheduling coverage and staffing needs as necessary
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality resident care
- Participate in on-call rotation and leadership coverage as needed
- Coordinate employee TB testing and annual influenza vaccination programs
Required:
- 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong understanding of IDPH, CMS, and long-term care regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- BSN preferred
- Infection Preventionist training/certification
- Wound Care Certification (WCC or CWOCN)
