The salary range for this position is $61.00 - $79.67 (Hourly Rate)

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Canning Thoracic Institute (CTI) as part of our rapidly growing Lung Transplant Team. CTI operated collaboratively across the Northwestern Medicine health system to advance our mission to deliver the highest quality care for patients with diseases of the chest, promote clinical innovation and discovery, and improve lung health in the Greater Chicago Community.

This APP will work closely with our Lung Transplant Team to support our growing inpatient Lung Transplant Unit (24/7 coverage, 14 bed unit). The APP will provide primary management to patients in the Transplant Unit as well as consultative coverage for transplant patients in other hospital units (post‑surgical, MICU, CTICU). This position is 100% in‑patient.

Schedule:

3 x 12hr shifts with 4 hrs admin time; rotating days/nights/weekends. Some holiday coverage required. No on‑call. May work 100% nights if preferred

• Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems.
• Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population.
• Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise.
• Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise.
• Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care.
• Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
