American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring an IL RN license and prior NICU experience.
Details- NICU unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), no block scheduling
- Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
- No on-call requirements
- Mandatory float facility - floating required within scope and across units at facility discretion
- May be required to float to other Cook facilities within 50 miles with as little as 2 hours notice
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Active IL RN license required in hand upon consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central/implanted line care
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries preferred
- Experience with neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks gestation
- Ventilator management experience (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and G-tube feeding
- Two professional references required from most recent employers prior to start
- Proof of COVID vaccination required (booster not required)
- Provide NICU care including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, neurologic care, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Care for patients with neonatal abstinence syndrome and gastrointestinal/respiratory needs
- No guaranteed home unit - may be floated to a variety of units including outside primary competency area with team-based support
- RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO permitted on weekends
- No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- Local candidates accepted and preferred within 75-mile radius of the facility
- Returning candidates must undergo full recredentialing and orientation, even after a break in contract of less than 30 days
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
