American Traveler is hiring an experienced PICU RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of pediatric ICU experience and an active IL RN license.
Details- Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
- No block scheduling permitted
- Mandatory float facility; floating expected regularly across units, potentially outside primary competency with team-based support
- May be required to float to other Cook facilities within 50 miles, with as little as 2 hours notice
- Cerner charting system used
- Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2+ years of PICU experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Skills required include management of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, central/PICC line care, ICP monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
- Two professional references required, from most recent employers, one per employer
- Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exceptions
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients including seizure management, continuous sedation, and respiratory support
- Refusal to float may result in assignment cancellation
- RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends
- No RTO permitted on holidays or the day before/after a holiday; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Any scrub color accepted
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Returning clinicians must complete full recredentialing and orientation, even after breaks of less than 30 days
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
