Make a Difference in Your Community – Become a Crossing Guard!

The Village of Northbrook is seeking responsible, safety-minded individuals to join our team as a Crossing Guard. This vital role helps ensure the safety of children and families as they travel to and from school, and contributes to the well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist children and other pedestrians safely across intersections near schools.
• Monitor traffic flow and follow traffic safety protocols.
• Report unsafe conditions or concerns to appropriate authorities.
• Serve as a positive representative of the Village and support community safety initiatives.

Schedule:

• Work is typically scheduled during school days (morning and afternoon shifts).
• Shifts are approximately 1 to 1.5 hours in the morning and again in the afternoon.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Background check required.

Benefits:This position is not eligible for benefits or pension.
