Overview
The Park Maintenance employee is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of park facilities and grounds during the summer season. This role involves routine maintenance tasks such as landscaping, trash collection, facility cleaning, and minor repairs to ensure parks are safe and enjoyable for the public.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a strong work ethic, and are committed to keeping public spaces safe and clean for the community.
Responsibilities- Mow lawns, trim hedges, and maintain landscaping features.
- Weed flower beds, gardens, and landscaped areas.
- Water plants and maintain irrigation systems.
- Clean and maintain park pathways, parking lots, and other walkways.
- Interact with park visitors in a courteous and helpful manner with general park information.
- Work effectively with other park maintenance staff and supervisors.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and maintain amenities such as restrooms, benches, picnic tables, and trash receptacles.
- Make minor repairs to facilities, including painting and patching surfaces.
- Assist in any other duties as needed or requested by the Park Manager or Superintendent.
- Must be 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in outdoor or facility maintenance (preferred).
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment including but not limited to zero turn mowers, and trimmers.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team or on individual tasks.
Spring/Summer Seasonal, part-time position
Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
12 to 32 hours per week
