We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Summit, IL, 60501. Details of the position are as follows:

Job Description:

Pay: $25.00/hr to start!
2-year contract to start with the possibility of extension or conversion based on budget and performance.
Shift: Monday
- Friday, Flexible 7:00am- 5:00pm (8-hour shift), onsite position.
Position will mainly be responsible for maintaining a strong commitment to safety by following standard safety procedures and corporate policies, participating in safety meetings, implementing personal safety plans, working safely with hot asphalt and chemicals, and maintaining a clean, organized laboratory environment.
Responsibilities also include performing asphalt quality testing including rotational viscosity, penetration, flash point, and other ASTM/AASHTO test methods, collecting, analyzing, and documenting test data, troubleshooting product results and laboratory instruments, and supporting multiple testing projects.
Position will also be responsible for supporting laboratory operations through instrument calibration, preventative maintenance, inventory management, housekeeping, maintaining testing certifications, and ensuring laboratory readiness.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/ GED, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree is required!
Previous academic or professional lab experience or manufacturing background is required.
Experience with MS Office is preferred.
Experience with data collection Is preferred.
Experience with lab maintenance and inventory is preferred.
