Quality Control Technician Responsibilities
- Monitor line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Check metal detectors (CCP), magnets, scales and perform critical control point and GMP audits.
- Assist in foreign material and product non-conformance investigations.
- Perform batch set‑up checks, assist in correcting setups, and log discrepancies.
- Place products on hold when necessary and release them when appropriate.
- Reject products as necessary, completing rejection forms including root cause and corrective action analysis.
- Check allergen clean‑out effectiveness as needed.
- Perform Pre‑Op audits when necessary, such as after equipment maintenance.
- Conduct production scale checks and lab equipment calibration based on the schedule.
- Collect micro samples as needed and manage micro hold products.
- Perform special tasks as assigned, retain sample area, and control sample files.
- Follow all GMP and safety procedures.
- Ability to use quality control analysis equipment.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills and data processing.
- Ability to climb ladders to work on platforms.
- Capability to lift 50 pounds.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred:
Degree in a related field, offering quicker promotional opportunities. - High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of related work experience.
- The position requires flexibility to work the second shift from 2 pm to 10 pm and the third shift from 10 pm to 6 am. Employees can expect a decent amount of overtime, potentially working up to 12‑hour shifts. The role includes a shift differential. The work environment emphasizes adherence to GMP and safety procedures.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 – $22.35 per hour.
