Quality Control Engineer Position Summary
A growing manufacturer of custom industrial equipment is seeking an experienced Quality Control Engineer to oversee and continuously improve its quality inspection and quality management processes. This individual will be responsible for developing quality procedures, supporting inspection activities, resolving quality issues, and ensuring products consistently meet engineering specifications, internal standards, and customer requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on quality professional who enjoys solving technical problems, improving manufacturing processes, and partnering closely with Engineering and Production to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, inspection plans, and documentation.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspections for custom industrial equipment and electromechanical assemblies.
- Investigate quality concerns, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure products comply with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and documentation systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Train and support Quality Inspectors while promoting best practices throughout the quality department.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving consistency, and increasing overall product reliability.
- Support compliance with applicable quality standards, procedures, and internal documentation requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent manufacturing quality experience will also be considered.
- 3–5+ years of quality engineering or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with industrial equipment, electromechanical assemblies, automation systems, fluid handling equipment, or similar manufactured products.
- Working knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO, ASTM, or similar manufacturing quality frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
- Experience mentoring inspectors or leading quality initiatives is highly preferred.
