Position: Quality Technician I

Duties

  • Must work in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
  • Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to meet customer specifications.
  • Verify production test equipment is performing within accepted parameters.
  • Advise production when inspection results do not meet customer specifications.
  • Replenish supplies and materials for assigned area.
  • Perform recording, filing duties, HFI, and related duties as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on inspection equipment as required.
  • On-the-job training and development of assigned personnel as needed.
  • Communicate pertinent information to next shift, production, and quality assurance supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and perform clean‑up, painting, and housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 requirements as it applies to the position.
  • Sort and inspect materials or product as requested.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform such individual assignments as management may direct.
Job Scope
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Works on moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
Education and Experience Requirements

Experience and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process associated with inspection area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of all assigned equipment and products.
  • Experience with SPC/Infinity QS applications; ability to perform basic system problem solving.
  • Ability to learn all assigned equipment and products.
  • Ability to identify product defects in raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods using appropriate inspection procedures and test equipment.
  • Ability to learn customer specifications.
  • Ability to use charts and graphs utilizing computer skills.
  • Ability to create and promote a teamwork and cooperation atmosphere.
  • Reading, writing, and performing mathematical calculations.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and gauges.
  • Use measuring tools and perform calibrations.
  • Complete all required shift quality documentation and reports.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate and work with others and be assertive as required.
  • Organized, self‑starter, and ability to work under general supervision.
  • Compliance with quality, PPE requirements and safety; understanding importance of safety policies and procedures.
Physical/Visual Demands/Work Environment
  • Work scheduled shifts based on production requirements.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Perform the physical activities required by the function of the position.
  • Work in noisy environment with hearing protection required.
  • Safety glasses required.
  • Work with or near high‑speed automated equipment.
  • May work with materials that could irritate eyes, skin, and breathing; use gloves, masks, or other protective equipment.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions
  • Inside conditions: extremes of heat (>100°F seasonally), exposure to humidity, working in tight areas, high noise levels, exposure to outside weather elements, oil and dirt.
Salary

The salary or pay range is $23/hour. Exact salary offered will depend on candidate’s experience, work location, skills, etc.
