Role overview
This is a remote, volume-based quality control role focused on the technical review and validation of recorded audio files against strict project specifications. The specialist uses Adobe Audition to analyse recordings, flag non-compliant material and approve audio hours that meet the required standards, with workload scaling up and down depending on the volume of audio received.
Responsibilities- Review recorded audio files for technical quality and compliance with project requirements
- Analyse recordings across noise floor, signal-to-noise ratio, RMS levels, LUFS or loudness, peak levels, clipping and distortion, and frequency spectrum
- Verify that recordings meet required technical specifications such as 48 kHz sample rate, 24-bit depth and mono WAV format
- Identify technical issues and flag recordings that do not meet required quality standards
Perform detailed audio analysis using Adobe Audition - Verify the quality, completeness and duration of processed recording hours
- Maintain accurate QC records and quality reports, and track recurring technical issues affecting recording quality
- Approve compliant recording hours for further processing and delivery, processing audio based on actual received volume
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Audition
- Practical experience in professional audio recording, editing or quality control
- Strong understanding of audio technical parameters and quality standards
- Ability to analyse and interpret RMS, LUFS, SNR, peak levels, frequency spectrum, noise floor and clipping
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working against strict technical specifications
- Good organisational skills and ability to maintain clear QC records
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Comfortable working with varying volumes of audio depending on project needs
- Experience applying consistent judgement across high volumes of recordings
- Fully remote work
